NightLake on the web, iPhone, iPad and Android · last changed 2 November 2026

NightLake has no accounts, no ads, no cookies and no tracking. The music and the picture are made on your device. The only thing that leaves it is an anonymous count of how NightLake is used, which cannot tell one listener from another.

What is counted

The website and the apps send a short message to nightlake.app when something happens:

When the message arrives, our host Cloudflare adds the country of the network it came from. Nothing else is kept: not your IP address, not your device, not a cookie or any other identifier. Messages can be added up, but not linked to each other or to a person. They are kept for up to three months and used only to see how NightLake is used and to improve the music.

What stays on your device

Your settings (piece length, sleep timer, rain, the sliders) and the pieces you keep are stored on your device only and never sent anywhere. Deleting the app, or clearing the site's data in your browser, removes them.

Who else is involved

No data is sold, shared for advertising, or used to build a profile.

Children

NightLake collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Your rights and contact

NightLake is made by Kilian Schefer in Switzerland. Because the counts are anonymous, there is nothing we could find, show or delete about you. Questions are welcome at [email protected]. If this policy changes, this page will say so, with a new date above.
